Individual Tickets by Round

Widely considered one of the preeminent international music contests, the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition exists to share excellent classical music with the largest international audience possible and to launch the careers of its winners every four years. The world’s top 18- to 30-year-old pianists compete for gold in front of a live audience in Fort Worth, Texas, as well as a global online viewership of over 5 million.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are unable to use any of your tickets, please give them to another music lover to use or donate them back to the Box Office up to 24 hours prior to the concert. As always, no refunds or exchanges will be allowed for Competition ticket-package purchases, except in the case of a complete Competition cancellation. Children under the age of 10 will not be admitted into any concert. If they appear at the concert and are accompanied by an adult, they may view the performances live via the simulcast in the Orchestra Hall at TCU and Van Cliburn Recital Hall next to Bass Hall.  Visit cliburn.org/2025-competition for more information.

Preliminary Round

30 competitors - Competitors perform a 40-minute recital, to include commissioned work of 4-6 minutes by Gabriela Montero. Concerts beginning at 10:00 a.m. or 7:30 p.m. feature three pianists. Concerts beginning at 2:30 p.m. feature four pianists.

Wednesday, May 21 - 10:00 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 22 - 10:00 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.
Friday, May 23 -10:00 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. (followed by the announcement of quarterfinalists)

Quarterfinal Round

18 competitors - Competitors perform a 40-minute recital. Four pianists perform at 10:00 am and 2:30 pm. Three pianists perform at 7:30 pm

Saturday, May 24 - 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 25 - 10:00 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. (followed by the announcement of semifinalists)

Semifinal Round

12 competitors - The Semifinal Round will be held in two phases. Phase I: Each pianist will perform a 60-minute recital. The repertoire will consist of works chosen by the pianist. Phase II: Each pianist will perform a Mozart piano concerto with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Carlos Miguel Prieto. 

Wednesday, May 28 - 7:30 p.m. (two recitals)
Thursday, May 29 - 2:30 p.m. (two recitals) and 7:30 p.m. (four Mozart concertos)
Friday, May 30 - 2:30 p.m. (two recitals) and 7:30 p.m. (four Mozart concertos)
Saturday, May 31 - 2:30 p.m. (two recitals) and 7:30 p.m. (four Mozart concertos)
Sunday, June 1  - 2:30 p.m. (two recitals) and 7:30 p.m. (two recitals, followed by Finalist announcement)

Final Round + Award Ceremony

6 competitors – Competitors perform two concertos, to be selected from two separate lists, with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and conductor Marin Alsop. Note: Tickets to the June 7 Final Concerto include re-entry to the Awards Ceremony, following.

Tuesday, June 3 - Final Concerto 1,  7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, June 4 - Final Concerto 2, 7:30 p.m.
Friday, June 6 - Final Concerto 3, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, June 7 - Final Concerto 4, 3:00 p.m. + Awards Ceremony, 7:00 p.m.
