Imagination Movers

For the uninitiated, the Imagination Movers are both thinkers and jammers. Their TV show, DVDs and CDs are intended to emphasize creative problem-solving skills and introduce fun, high-energy rock music to kids. Many of their songs pay tribute to the music they grew up on.

"We definitely have an 80s influence on our music," Scott Durbin, one of the four Movers, told the Orlando Sentinel. "Big Country, Duran Duran, the Police - all these bands we grew up listening to."

Formed in 2003, the quartet is comprised of Durbin (a former teacher), former journalist Rich Collins, architect Dave Poche and Scott Smith, a New Orleans firefighter who was a member of the Hurricane Katrina search-and-rescue team. Disney discovered the guys in 2005 during a show at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

The Imagination Movers have released four CDs - Good Ideas, Calling All Movers, Eight Feet and this year's Juicebox Heroes - and a DVD, Stir it Up. Earlier this year, they performed at a White House Easter party and, this past summer, on Good Morning America.
