The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra proudly launches a new artistic partnership with 2013 Cliburn Gold Medalist Vadym Kholodenko in a two-year commitment to performing all five Prokofiev piano concertos.

The formidable Piano Concerto No. 2 in G Minor is paired in this program with Verdi's majestic overture to Nabucco and Brahms' joyful Symphony No. 2 in D Major.

To celebrate the ten year partnership with Susan G. Komen Greater Fort Worth, TCU Frogs for the Cure presents a one time only exclusive concert evening. Former First Lady Laura Bush opens the event, CBS Newsman Bob Schieffer and his 9-piece Honky Tonk Confidential Band perform, and TCU's national breast cancer music video featuring Josh Groban's song "Brave" debuts. The mega-watt star for the second half of the show is headline artist Tony-Award winning actress Bernadette Peters with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.

Hal Holbrook returns to Bass Hall with his acclaimed "Mark Twain Tonight!" show, which he has toured the country every year since 1954.

Each year, the Tony Award-winning actor adds and edits material, changing it to fit the times. Much of it is serious; some is not. "There's a lot of funny stuff in the show that doesn't have to do with serious matters," Holbrook said in an interview with The Maui News. "Because he was very funny. He was the first stand-up comic, you might say, in America."

The Cliburn, Lone Star Film Festival, and Performing Arts Fort Worth present the FREE screening of the film Virtuosity: The Story of the Fourteenth Cliburn Competition, directed by Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Christopher Wilkinson.

In a special partnership among the three organizations, the documentary will open the 2014 Lone Star Film Festival.

Virtuosity follows the inspirational odysseys of 30 protagonists as they travel from Moscow, London, New Haven, Brussels, Kiev, Lecce, Pescara, New York, Tokyo - to Fort Worth to comete in the most prestigious piano competition on the planet, the Cliburn. Some win, some lose, but it's the experience that allows us an inside view of who they are, where they come from and how they see the world. We see how these young people use music to discover themselves as they are entirely exposed on a concert stage.

Jackopierce is one of the most popular pop-rock bands from the North Texas area. The two-man group, made up of Jack O'Neill and Cary Pierce, spent the late '80s and early '90s touring the country, releasing records for labels big and small and helping spur interest in the North Texas music scene.

After going their separate ways in 1997, the two reformed Jackopierce in 2002, commemorating the event with a string of sold-out shows. Since then, the guys have released more albums and continue to tour near and far.

Jackopierce recently marked its 25th anniversary with the release of a new CD, Live 25.

Clara receives a mysterious nutcracker from her godfather and it becomes the center of an astonishing dream. Come join Clara on her magical journey as she travels with a nutcracker-turned-Prince to The Land of Sweets, where she is treated to a celebration of sweets from around the world who dance just for her.

Filled with enchantment and wonder, The Nutcracker is a delightful addition to any holiday celebration. Flying carpets, snow and talented dancers make this show unforgettable.

On December 12, Texas Ballet Theater will put on The Nutty Nutcracker, a PG-13 spoof of The Nutcracker. The Nutty Nutcracker incorporates pop culture and current events to parody the story of the traditional holiday favorite. Set to the original score, this performance is not your typical Nutcracker.
